QueryEye Inc. (Aichi Venture House Rm.105, 2-2-24, Shinsakae, Naka-ku, Nagoya City, Japan, Founder & CEO: Masashi Mizuno) will announce the QuerySeeker, an analyzing tool for analysis for planning, sales promotion and market trend analysis for planning, development and sales companies of iPhone/iPad application( http://queryseeker.com/ ). Also, the company will exhibit the tool at the Tokyo Game Show ( September 16 to 19, 2010, at Makuhari Messe, Booth: 6-7C)
QuerySeeker can record the variation of ranking of iTunes each one hour as the database. Also it can make word-of-mouth communication appeared on the ranking to database from the streaming date of Twitter. So that by linking the both can realize a variety of trend analysis.
The iTunes ranking uses the RSS information that Apple Inc. releases for public. The obtainable information includes approximately maximum 300 of 7 nations (Japan, the USA, the UK, France, German, Spain and Italy). And the information’s database of each one hour can be served.
The Twitter streaming data has selected contributions at a certain ratio by a Twitter system among world’s Twitters’ messages. The QuerySeeker will continue to receive for 24 hours the world’s Twitter streaming data filtered messages include keyword of iPhone and iPad, and it carries out information analysis of these messages. When some URLs are included in these messages, it can check the Web site will contain information related to iPhone/iPad application or not. Then it specifies what is the application is and make it in database form. The Twitter can cope with of 6 language messages (Japanese, English, French, German, Spanish and Italian), and can receive and analyze them at a rate of approximately 100 to 200 messages at one minute.
The iTunes ranking information since June 2010 and the Twitter information since the middle of July are databased. And the total volume of QuerySeeker database for approximately 3 months up to the end of August 2010 will reach to approximately 35000 millions.
Using these gathered data, from word-of mouth communication and Web site, the iTunes ranking’s variation and causing can be watched visibly. Then, doing so marketing and market trend research as well analysis of various kinds of applications can be possible.
As actual usage of this tool, automation of surveillance of own application’s variation and information gathering for cause analysis can be achieved. Also not only own application but also research of other companies trends are possible. For instance, when set up of sales promotion plan of a new product, using the QuerySeeker can search and analyze the preceding cases and can apply it to own company’s new plans.
